2. Add some events to a calendar.
3. Embed your calendar into your blog.

7. Google Forms

You can create forms that will "feed" right into a Google spreadsheet. AND you can embed those forms into your blog.

Go to http://docs.google.com to give it a try.

When you're finished:

a. Have someone else fill out your form.

b. Take a look at the Google docs templates!

Now that you have a Google login, you can create your own customized maps.

Go to http://www.maps.google.com

Create a custom map and embed it into your blog.

You can use embed code to add all sorts of cool widgets to your blog posts.

2. Create a "sandbox" blog.
3. Post a welcome message.

When you're finished, explore the settings and options for your blog.

2. iGoogle

1. Go to: www.google.com
2. Set up an iGoogle page.

1. Google Account

For this session, you will need a Google account. If you don't have one, you can either create one or you can use a generic login provided by Tammy.

To create a teacher account, you can use either of these two options:

Option 1
Use an existing email address

1. Go to: www.google.com

2. Click the “Sign In” link in the upper-right corner.

3. Click the “Create an account now” link at the lower-right

4. Follow the on-screen prompts to create an account.

5. Check your email for a message from Google. It will include a link that will verify and enable your account.

Option 2
Create a Gmail account

Note – once your Gmail account is created, you can use your Gmail address and password to log on to Google’s other tools!

1. Go to: mail.google.com

2. Click the “Sign up for Gmail” link at the lower right.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts to create your account.

1b Optional - Create Avatar

If you want, you can go to www.myavatareditor.com and create an avatar to use as your Google profile picture.
